Are you tired of fighting dust? Do you or someone in your home suffer from allergies, asthma or sinus congestion? Do you have pet hair throughout your home? Did you recently build or remodel your home? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we can help you solve your air quality problems.
During the construction process lots of debris and building scraps often enter your registers and end up in your ducts. Unless removed, fine particles from the debris, which can be respiratory irritants, can circulate within the ducts and enter your rooms through the registers. In the final stage of building a home, prior to moving in, the ducts should be cleaned and vacuumed to remove any particles that may have entered during construction.
We use high-pressure duct cleaning equipment to thoroughly clean your air ducts. We are trained to do the job the right way the first time. We'll make sure that your home and its furnishings are treated with respect and are not damaged during any part of our service. Plus, we'll leave your home cleaner than before we arrived.
The Cleaning Process
The most effective way to clean air ducts is to use the "source removal" technique. This process is the highest standard in the industry and it is the only method endorsed by the National Air Duct Cleaners Association, NADCA.
Using the Air Care Solutions state-of-the-art truck-mount vacuum, your ductwork system is placed under negative pressure. While the vacuum draws air through the system, various tools are inserted into the return and supply register boots to dislodge contaminants inside the ducts, removing them from the system and your home to the truck outside. The technician will also hand wash each of your registers.
A thorough duct cleaning should take anywhere from 2 to 5+ hours, depending on the size of the home, and the level of debris within the system. The duct cleaner should be familiar with duct air flow patterns to determine the most efficient location to attach the source removal equipment. Homes that have perimeter loops of ductwork require multiple hook-ups for a thorough cleaning.
Beware of companies using low-quality equipment. Since there are no government regulations on duct cleaning, many companies use shop vacs and leaf blowers, or duct cleaning systems that damage ductwork. Air Care Solutions has the right equipment for ANY type of job and is familiar with all types of ductwork and what should be used for each kind.
The Cleaning Procedure, Step-by-Step
1. The technician will lay down runners on finished floors and place corner guards on each corner.
2. The technician will gain access for the vacuum hose by making a 10" opening into the main trunk lines of both the supply and return side of the system.
3. The vacuum hose will be inserted into this opening to prepare for the truck-mount unit to produce a vacuum throughout the system.
4. The filter will be tightly covered so that we can separate both sides of the system. This will also ensure that no debris is being pulled through your indoor A/C coil. Some supply and return vents may have to be covered or have the dampers closed so that the full vacuum will be drawing through each vent, and the whole system will be under a negative pressure. The technician will clean the vents one at a time.
5. A compressed air nozzle and special pneumatic tools will be inserted into each supply and return vent; the compressed air and air whips will blow the dirt and debris toward the vacuum hose and send it to our truck mounted holding compartment.
6. Our air whips and skipper balls will be inserted in to the main trunk lines and plenum's after all vents have been cleaned out. They will be propelled throughout the system, loosening remaining dirt and debris and blowing it into the vacuum system.
7. After thoroughly cleaning both sides of the duct system, we will continue to clean out the furnace, blower compartment and filter area.
8. All openings are sealed with inspection plates that are screwed on to the ductwork. The inspections plates will be taped with acrylic based metal tape, not with duct tape.
